On Thursday, Aug. 19, Colorado State University Pueblo announced the 23-acre solar array project on the north side of campus, had been completed and the university has officially switched all academic buildings to solar power. CSU Pueblo is the first campus in the state of Colorado to reach net zero efficiency. The solar project launched as a 25-year power purchase agreement with Johnson Controls and allows CSU Pueblo to become a higher education leader in sustainability and energy consumption.
Colorado State University Pueblo received a $2,155,836 million dollar grant from the Institutional Resilience and Expanded Postsecondary Opportunity (IREPO) Grants Program.
Earlier this week, Colorado State University Pueblo announced that Timothy Mottet, the university’s 15th President, signed a new contract extending his time at CSU Pueblo until June 2026. On top of the funding for Mottet’s salary, the Board of Governors of the CSU System agreed to substantial additional university funding as an investment in Mottet’s team and his vision of ensuring CSU Pueblo is better connected and more fully engaged as a partner in the future of the Pueblo community.

Colorado State University Pueblo President Timothy Mottet Renewed Until 2026. The Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System has extended CSU Pueblo President Timothy Mottet’s contract for an additional five years, until 2026, and as part of the negotiation agreed to invest a total of more than $5 million in additional funds for the campus over that same period.
Colorado State University Pueblo begins the fall academic year with all-employee professional development the week of Aug. 16-20. The fall 2021 theme is “Pathways: Creating Meaningful Pathways to the 4-year Degree and Beyond.” Convocation is the all-employee development opportunity for CSU Pueblo and is filled with guest speakers, cutting-edge training and numerous in-person activities designed to prepare employees to welcome students to the fall semester.

State University Global Hemp Innovation Center to host the 2021 Virtual Cannabis Research Conference. The conference takes place Aug. 3 through 5 which engages with global cannabis innovators exploring new cannabis research frontiers.
